Job Purpose

The Sponsorship Program Coordinator is responsible for supporting the administration, coordination, and implementation of Manitoba Liquor & Lotteries’ (MBLL) Sponsorship program. The incumbent will take the lead on assigned files within their portfolio, and ensure commitments on behalf of the organization are fulfilled, as well as ensuring benefits and recognition are realized.

Job Responsibilities

  • Manage the planning, coordination, and implementation of approved sponsorship agreements, events, promotions, and related activities.
  • Act as a public representative for MBLL at sponsored events.
  • Provide a high level of professionalism and customer service to community members, internal and external groups and volunteers.
  • Plan, organize, and coordinate MBLL involvement with sponsored events and/or promotions that support brand strategies for the corporation.
  • Coordinate sponsorship activities, and liaise with internal departments to realize benefits/ opportunities/advertising 
  • Create, provide, and distribute extensive and detailed event information to all stakeholders 
  • Liaise with the Senior Volunteer and Employee Giving Specialist. Facilitate volunteer involvement with MBLL sponsored events.
  • Liaise with various levels of internal and external organizations and groups.
  • Prepare and lead event plans and coordinate activities/logistics for sponsorship events.
  • Work with corporate partners, event organizing committees, and community volunteers for successful execution of sponsored events/programs.
  • Participate in set up/tear down activities and transportation of materials and equipment as required.
  • Provide feedback to management with respect to event activities and execution, and determine if sponsorship requires changes.
  • Document event activity anomalies and progress comments in the sponsorship database, liaising with the Manager, Community Support on issues potentially beyond scope.
  • Responsible for maintaining accurate monthly ticket tracking spreadsheets for Management detailing the specific use of each ticket received under a sponsorship agreement.
  • Manage the activation of sponsorship events and programs.
  • Manage assigned leveraging budgets and support the area’s annual leveraging budget process.
  • Manage the realization of all negotiated benefits and recognition for assigned sponsorship and corporate partnership files.
  • Provide strategic recommendations on all event opportunities that will further business relations and meet corporate objectives to the Manager, Community Support.
  • Work with Management on sponsorship application reviews, recommendations, and post-sponsorship analysis.
  • Assess new sponsorship applications and provide recommendations/findings to the Manager, Community Support regarding value and brand promotion opportunities.
  • Assess existing sponsorships/renewals for opportunities and develop opportunities for greater brand exposure. Provide recommendations/findings to Manager, Community Support.
  • Participate in the development, valuation, and negotiation of sponsorship agreements in consultation with Management. 
  • In consultation with the Manager, Community Support, negotiate sponsorship benefits for Community Support sponsorships.
  • Support the development and implementation of program procedures and databases.
  • Respond to inquiries on sponsorship program and application processes.
  • Provide sponsorship updates for corporate-wide communication channels.
  • Other related duties as assigned.

Primary Qualifications

  • A diploma/certificate in marketing, business, communications, or related discipline, or a combination of education and related experience.
  • A minimum of two years’ experience in corporate sponsorship activation, and/or community partnership programs and event planning.
  • Exceptional communication/interpersonal skills and strong analytical and organizational skills.
  • Intermediate skills in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook).
  • The ability to use and maintain databases, and familiarity with the use of graphics software.
  • Have and maintain a valid Manitoba Class 5 Drivers License is preferred.
  • Experience in event management, activation, or coordination.
  • The core competencies for this position include customer service, teamwork and cooperation, communication, self-development and initiative, valuing diversity, integrity and building trust, achieving quality results, technical/professional knowledge.  These competencies are deemed important for the success of the position and organization.

Secondary Qualifications

  • Experience in a supervisory/leadership capacity is considered is an asset.
  • Experience working with a broad range of clients from community organizations, major businesses and volunteers is an asset.
  • Liquor product knowledge and/or gaming industry experience is considered an asset.
  • Bilingual French/English language skills is an asset.

Vacation
