Job Purpose

Reporting to the Program Manager, Visual Merchandising, the summer student will be working closely with the Visual Merchandising and Liquor Marketing teams.

Job Responsibilities

  • Refresh, reorganize, and catalogue photo libraries and planoguides. This will include developing a streamlined process for new files as well as organizing and archiving existing ones.
  • Create a merchandising inventory database system for all assets.
  • Assist in providing constructive feedback on design and merchandising creative concepts and drafts.
  • Research and test modern retail merchandising solutions to improve the in-store experience. 
  • Update fixture merchandising guides with new photos and updated layouts.
  • Research jurisdictional information on categories of focus and create proposals for improvements, including merchandising plans.
  • Development of a new procedure, checklist, and reporting process to track budget spending from multiple marketing accounts.
  • Visit various Liquor Mart locations to complete merchandising checklists and scorecards ensuring proper brand standards are followed and displays are correct.
  • Travel required to multiple MBLL work locations. Personal vehicle and valid MB Driver’s license are a requirement.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Primary Qualifications

  • University faculty and course(s): Marketing, Retail Management, Creative Communications, Business or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to work both remotely and report to the sites as required.
  • Strong organizational skills, time management, and attention to detail required.
  • Intermediate or better skills with the Microsoft Office Portfolio (Word, Excel, TEAMS, PowerPoint) and proficiency in data management.
  • Above average communication skills (both electronic and in person communication and follow up with a variety of departments is required).
  • Basic design skills or proficiency with Adobe Photoshop and InDesign considered an asset.
  • Retail experience considered an asset.
  • Knowledge of liquor products and categories considered an asset.
  • Ability to lift 20 pounds required and stand for longer periods of time when on site.
