Job Purpose
Reporting to the Shift Supervisor, Player Services, the Gift Store Cashier is responsible for performing cashier functions, exchanging coin and currency as required, maintaining and updating retail inventory, and selling merchandise in the Retail Store. The Cashier provides superior customer service.
Job Responsibilities
- Accept payment for gift store and Ticket Master items.
- Complete sales transactions for all forms of payment including cash, debit, credit card, gift certificates, and coupons.
- Replenish and arrange stock in the store.
- Price, tag and, bag new stock.
- Assist Supervisor with merchandising store.
- Respond to inquiries regarding entertainment.
- Provide assistance to guests.
- Receive orders and verify inventory amounts.
- Order offline and online products.
- Count inventory (cigarettes, lottery tickets, gift certificates, and newspapers) to verify counts from previous day.
- Print off lottery results, game lists and game results from lottery system for display.
- Place cash and related paperwork in the float bag and return to designated area.
- Prepare and forward end of shift paperwork to Supervisor.
- Encourage a climate that supports diversity.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Primary Qualifications
- Six (6) months previous experience in a customer service-related industry and cash handling.
- Must have basic mathematical skills to perform accurate cash transactions and inventory counts.
- Experience with ticket master, lottery and retail sales are considered assets.
- Ability to work a variety of shifts based on the requirements of a twenty-four hour (24), seven (7) days a week operation.

These competencies are deemed important for the success of the position and organization.
- Satisfactory work performance in the preceding twelve (12) months is a requirement. Attendance rate will be a factor in the pre-screening process.
Secondary Qualifications
- Bilingual (French/English) language skills.
- Western Canada Lotteries Corporation certification (6/49) is required; however, may be acquired on the job.
- Experience with ticket master, lottery and retail sales.
