Job Purpose

Reporting to the Supervisor, Community Support Activations, the summer student will assist with Community Support department to execute event activations in the community. Summer Students are expected to have a flexible work schedule with availability to work evenings and weekends.

Job Responsibilities

  • Assist with the organization and execution of Community Support event activations at sponsored events and festivals throughout Winnipeg and surrounding rural communities between May – August.
  • Act as a public representative at Manitoba Liquor & Lotteries sponsored events.
  • Assist with the promotional activities at sponsored events.
  • Assist in the preparation of promotional materials and prizing including prize baskets.
  • Assist in the tracking and maintenance of inventory, signage and asset equipment.
  • Participate in all set-up and tear-down activities, including transport of event materials and equipment, tents and signage. 
  • Assist with administrative support as required.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Primary Qualifications

  • Minimum of 1 year completed education in a Post-Secondary Institution in Marketing, Business, Communications, Sports Recreation, Event Coordination or Volunteer Management and must be returning the following year. 
  • Must maintain a valid class 5 driver’s license. 
  • Position is customer facing, representing Manitoba Liquor & Lotteries brands in the community. 
  • Strong communication and organizational skills required.
  • Ideal candidate enjoys engaging with people in the community and is professional and presentable. 
  • Needs to be able to lift and transport equipment that can include promotional tents, boxes of promotional items.
